Student Awards

Established in 1897, the Student Music Awards continue to benefit young musicians to this day. Nearly $6,000 is awarded to talented students in grades 6th-12th each year. In the spring of 2022, we expanded the Student Music Awards to include students in grades 1st – 5th.

Saturday, February 3, 2024, 9 AM – 4 PM

Flint Institute of Music

All music students, 1st – 12th grades, who study voice, piano, organ, accordion, strings, guitar, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, or percussion are eligible. Students are not required to be a member of SCSM.

Starting in October, applications can be found at all SCSM meetings with the counselors, or at the FSPA office. Applications will be accepted December 1, 2023, – January 20, 2024. For more information, please speak with an SCSM counselor.

SCS Student Award winners will perform on the recital on Sunday, February 25, 2024, MacArthur Recital Hall (FIM).
